Our Story: StoneHouse Candles: Light in the Darkness

This is our story of how we came into the wonderful world of candle making! These are the inspirational verses that ignited our candle making, and set our vision for StoneHouse Candles: "Light in the Darkness"

Matthew 5:14-16 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

One winter day I bought a small candle making set off of the internet to spend some quality time with my youngest daughter. We spent a wonderful time making some candle tins with a pre-made candle making set for beginners. It came with all of the ingredients and the exact measurements to make the candles. It was really cool and we had so much fun I decided to look into creating my own candles.

Next thing you know my husband got involved in the creativity as well. He started to get excited about hand-crafting our very own Signature StoneHouse Jars made from cement-all and distilled water. The journey started to really expand at this point where we could see the vision flourishing into something really special. 

We loved the idea of being able to pour our love into making clean-burning beautiful candles while sharing the Scriptures from the Word.

Psalm 119:105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

Your Word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.

It has been such a blessing to be able to make a beautiful product within our home, and to see how the Father leads. I really wanted inspiration for each vessel to come from the Scriptures, and for these candles to provide a real sense of peace and relaxation to everyone experiencing our candle collections.

The third main inspirational verse for our candle journey here at StoneHouse Candles LLC is Ephesians 2:10. The Father gave me this verse years ago at a woman's retreat I attended, and this verse really has been pivotable in my life. 

Ephesians 2:10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
